Stafford Associates Computer Specialists, Inc., founded in 1981 by Dolores V. Stafford and Dr. Eugene F. Stafford. Stafford Associates Computer Specialists, Inc originally concentrated in consulting and system design for small to medium sized businesses as well as providing training and programming for these businesses. Slowly, the company expanded to provide custom programming services along with system and network design. Our major area of concentration was Networking and Information System Applications, programming both in 3rd generation languages such as Pascal, BASIC, COBOL and LISP, as well as developing customized database solutions using dBASE and RBASE. Increasingly, we were being asked to purchase and install computer systems and to network existing systems. We concentrated on recognized brands of hardware such as IBM, Compaq, AST etc... and began to install the IBM PC LAN System, Novell and later the Token Ring Network at various businesses as well as in our office.
By 1987 the company had expanded in two directions. Having developed a reputation for reliable programs, we increased the programming side of the business, both by writing custom programs and developing our own software. Recognizing the lack of suitable programs in specific areas, we began to develop commercial programs for specific markets, specifically the medical area. The result was our main product, "PRESCRIPTION PLUS+", a medical database and prescription manager program. As our expertise in the installation of hardware and networks increased we were called upon to do the physical installation of networks, that is, the cabling side as well. Today, more than half of our business is in the installation of networks.
Our aim is to provide a complete solution for our customers, hardware, software, network operating system and support. We are currently an Authorized Apple, IBM, Hewlett Packard/Compaq, Lexmark and Cisco Reseller, to name a few, and an Authorized Apple, Hewlett Packard/Compaq, IBM and Xerox Service Center as well. We have extensive experience in both installing and troubleshooting networks on many different platforms.
Stafford Associates Computer Specialists, Inc also supports full data communications: voice, data and video; and can provide cabling, both metallic and fiber, for all data communication systems. We are particularly adept in providing LAN integration into the Internet and can provide both the hardware and the configuration for Internet Access. Stafford Associates Computer Specialists, Inc is prepared to offer its clients full Internet Service: Internet Access, Web Page Construction, LAN Access to the Internet, and Router Sales and Configuration.
